Barbara M. Barfield, 73, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at a local hospital. Barbara was born in Cairo, GA, and lived in Bay County since 1955. She was a homemaker, and a member of Callaway Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed fishing, gardening and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Humble and Doris Hartsfield, and a brother, Alex Hartsfield.
Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years, Sidney M. Barfield of Panama City; 2 daughters; a sister; a sister-in-law; her grandchildren; a great-grandson and several nieces and a nephew.
A graveside funeral service will begin at 10 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Don Hodges officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Barbara Barfield.
