OBITUARY :
MRS. CARRIE J. "JACKY" (COSGROVE) SANDERS, 83, of N. Grant St., Waynesboro, died Thursday evening, December 22, 2016, at Quincy Village.
Born May 17, 1933 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Sue L. (Woolridge) Cosgrove. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Sanders graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1951.
She and her husband, the late Arthur E. "Moose" Sanders, were married on February 28, 1952 in Hagerstown. They moved to N. Grant Street in 1969. Mr. Sanders died on November 30, 1989.
Mrs. Sanders worked as a secretary at the Waynesboro YMCA from 1952 until 1959. From 1959 until her retirement in 1999, she worked as a secretary for the Waynesboro Area School District.
She was a member of the National AARP and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Vicki Jo Collum and her husband, Carl, Tara Lee Engle and her husband, Michael, Michele C. Sanders, and Jody A. Sanders and his fiancé, Kara Baginski, all of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Teri Jo Snyder and her husband, Jon of Smithsburg, MD; two step-granddaughters, Alli Baginski and Amanda Baginski; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Madison, and Owen; one sister, Mary E. Cauffman of Waynesboro; and one nephew, Jeffrey Cauffman of Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 26, 2016, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Private graveside burial will be held in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, at the convenience of the family.
