Johnny Lee Kennedy, 52, of Mooringsport, LA passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Randy Brown. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oil City, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Monday the 26th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Johnny was born November 17, 1964 in Vivian, LA and he lived in Mooringsport for the past 23 years, where he was known by the town’s people as “Stagger Lee”. He was a member of Mooringsport Baptist Church. Johnny worked for the City of Shreveport for 24 years as a crew leader. He enjoyed working, and loved his coworkers. Johnny loved life, he loved to cook, he loved driving in his Chevelle, and working in his yard; planting fruit trees. He never met a stranger, and he loved helping people. Johnny graduated from North Caddo in 1982 where he was a member of the ROTC. He also loved being and helping the Boy Scouts.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father Leon Kennedy, his grandmother Marie Cole “Miss Tiney”, his uncle Kenneth V. Sirmons, his grandfather Marvin Sirmons, his great grandmother Jessie Lee Sirmons, and his great nephew “Little Craig”. He is survived by his wife Janice Plew Kennedy of Mooringsport, LA, his mother Shirley Sirmons of Shreveport, LA, his 2 sons Johnny Lee Kennedy II of Mooringsport and Joshua Leon Kennedy of Mooringsport, his 2 sisters Vickie Henderson and husband Donnie of Shreveport, and Donna Hull and husband Lloyd Wayne of Summersville, SC, his 3 brothers Robert Kennedy and wife Patty of Blanchard, LA, Jessie Kennedy of Blanchard, and Lloyd Kennedy of Shreveport, his aunt and uncle, Linda and Sammy Garza of Pflugerville, TX.

Pallbearers will be Howard Doss, Lloyd “Putt” Wayne Hull, Marvin “Bootsie” Tarver, Daryl “Boo Boo” Bertrand, Danny Fuller, Glen Harris, Brain Melancon, and Brian Tarver.
