Lloyd M. "Bill" Caldwell, age 77, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2007. He was born August 2, 1929, in Harkies Valley, AR, to the late Mark and Elsie Reynolds Caldwell. The youngest of eight children, Bill worked as a young boy with his family logging in Yell County. Bill was a truck driver for over 50 years and retired from AFCO Steel after over 22 years of service. He was a hard working man who enjoyed both gospel and country music and even played guitar. He was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church. An animal lover, he will be missed by his two cats, Ginger and Blue. Bill faithfully attended cardiopulmonary exercise classes at St. Vincent's for 5 years and enjoyed spending that time with the friends there. He was always telling jokes and stories to those around him. Bill never met a stranger and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed immensely.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary and May Martin, Carmel Hull, and Ben, Reece, Henry and Maxine Caldwell. Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Kela Caldwell; six children, Rick Caldwell, Kelly Jones, Wayne Caldwell, Cindy Saulsbury, Gene Nolen, Jr., and Glen Nolen; eight grandchildren, Joslyn Jan Mokrey, Kaden and Karson Jones, Jacob Harrod, and Sarah, Amanda, Madelein and Loren Nolen; one nephew and two nieces, J.L. and Mary Sue Martin and Aline Ward; and many other extended family and friends.
