Mr. Herman Ray Thomas, age 73, of Winnfield, La., passed away Friday, January 12, 2007, at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Jena, La. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was Constable of Ward 7, having served for a number of years. Mr. Thomas served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.

He was the son of the late T. M. Thomas and the late Lois (Everett) Thomas. Mr. Thomas was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Hazel (Franks) Thomas; of Winnfield, La.

One Brother, James M. Thomas and wife Margie of Winnfield, La.

Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 and from noon to service time on Sunday, January 14, 2007. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, with Bro. Pete Anderson and Rev. Kenneth Tarver officiating. Interment will be at Couley Double Church Cemetery near Winnfield.
