Marilyn Dorsett Whitman died March 8, 2015, in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth County on December 22, 1941, to Theodore Roosevelt and Hazel (Sink) Dorsett. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dale Whitman, in 2010; they were married 47 years. Other survivors include her son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) and grandsons, Jacob and Zachary; brothers, Melvin (Tamara), Teddy (Dottie), and Archie (Beverly); sister-in-law Ann (Harold); brother-in-law, James (Laura); several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at March 11, 2015. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Pfafftown, NC.
