The family of US Army Sergeant First Class (Ret) Richard D. Christian has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to escort their hero to his final rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Nella CA, on Thursday Dec 22, 2016 . The PGR is honored to accept the escort request.
SFC Christian served tours in France and Germany during WWII. He was awarded the United States of America Meritorious Service Medal, Military Merit Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon and the Army Reserve Achievement Ribbon.
Richard is survived by his wife Diane, children Cindy, Greg, Julie and Darlene also survived by grandchildren Keith, Taylor, Kayla, Lexis, Ashley, Hailey and Ajay.
THE MISSION: The family has requested the PGR to meet them at Cost Less Foods parking area located at 3801 Yosemite Blvd, Modesto Ca., then to proceed to Santa Nella for Richard's final honors. Upon arrival at SJVNC (Santa Nella) at 1000 hrs, the PGR will escort SFC Christian and the family to the committal site for services and final military honors. PGR will establish a flag line at the committal site. The services start at 1030 hours. Dec 22, 2016. At the conclusion of the services, the PGR will be dismissed.
