He served his country honorably in the US Coast Guard from 1956 - 1960. Walter was a toolmaker for Bonney Forge for 36 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Survivors: Daughter, April Braun and husband Russell of Allentown. He was predeceased by his sister, Arlene Nagy.
Services: 11:00am Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in the Church, 201 E. Juniata Street, Allentown, 18103. A viewing for family and friends to be held 10:00am until time of service in the Church. Interment to follow at St. Mark's Cemetery, Allentown. The K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
