REV. RANDOLF D. BLECH
(1943 - 2016)

Rev. Randolf Derrick Blech, age 73, of Plymouth, WI passed away Tuesday morning (December 13th, 2016) at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 15th, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, the first son of the late Donald and Elizabeth (Miller) Blech. He was made a child of God through Holy Baptism on October 31st, 1943 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio. He confirmed his Lutheran faith on May 25th, 1958 at Faith Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio. Randolf attended and graduated Cleveland Lutheran High School in May of 1962. On April 18th, 1965, he married Betty Bruss at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, WI.

Randolf enlisted into the United States Navy serving from April 10th 1968- January 5th, 1972 on the USS Independence as a radio operator. After active service, he remained in the Naval Reserve for many years. He attended and graduated with honors from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 22nd, 1981 starting his service to the Lutheran ministry. On June 21st, 1981 he was ordained as a minister to the Lutheran Church at St. John's Lutheran Church in Plymouth, WI. His first call was a tri-parish serving St. Paul Lutheran Church in Modena, WI; Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton, WI; and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canton, WI. Throughout Randolf's 35 years of ministry, he also served St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wittenberg, WI; Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, WI and St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth WI (Emeritus). While residing at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, he also performed pastoral duties by giving private communion to residents.

On February 2nd, 1982 Randolf and Betty adopted their first daughter, Kristiana Elizabeth Yeo-Sun Blech (born October 7th, 1982) from Taegu, South Korea. In April of 1984, they expanded the family with the adoption of their second daughter, Rebecca Helena Ae-Soon Blech (born October 22, 1984) from Pusan, South Korea. Throughout the years, Randolf was active in the communities in which he lived. He served as Vice President, President, and Past President of the 4-H district of Waushara County as well as many other activities within his local 4-H club, Blooms of Shara. Randolf was a member of the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243 in Plymouth, WI. He also was a committee member of the amputee group in Sheboygan County. Randolf enjoyed traveling, camping, deer hunting, family gatherings, spending time with his grandchildren, and collecting toy farm equipment and beer steins.

Randolf is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Betty (nee Bruss) of Plymouth, WI; two daughters Kristiana Blech (special friend Jim Wiroll) of Plymouth, WI and Becky (Matthew) NeSmith of Mequon, WI; a brother Brian Blech of Texas; two sister-in-laws; Pearl Fischer of Plymouth, WI and Elaine (Brent) Halverson of Sheboygan Falls, WI; three grandchildren; Ella, Eva, and Camden NeSmith all of Mequon, WI. He is survived by nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon (Dec. 18, 2016) at 4:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Rev. John Schultz, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Kason.
