George H. Bruso of Haslett age 90, a thirty-eight year resident of Haslett Michigan, died on June 3,, 2009. He was born July 27, 1918 at his parents home in St. Clair, Michigan, the son of Harry and Olive Bruso. He married Garnet Swanson on December 27, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. She preceded him in death on January 25, 1998. George sailed on Great Lakes freighters before joining the Navy during World War II.

Following the war he became a Conservation Officer for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (33 years).

George was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, serving as an usher and Eucharistic minister.

Also preceding him in death are his brother, Robert Bruso and sister, Helen Carter. He is survived by daughter, Sharon Larson (Dwayne) of Windsor Colorado; a son Fred Bruso (Therese) of Laingsburg Michigan; as well as 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. June 7., at Gorsline Runcimman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave.,East Lansing. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 8, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd. East Lansing with lunch served afterwards. In lieu of flowers donations in George's name can be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, c/o NBD Commerce Bank, P.O. Box 16224, Lansing, MI. 48901, or Hospice of Lansing, 4052 Legacy Parkway Suite 200 Lansing, MI. 48911.
