Earl Britt Blanton, age 90, of Towson, MD, passed away on December 21, 2016 at Maples of Towson in Towson. He was born in Cleveland, NC to Roy W. and Carrie Bell (Sims) Blanton and was the husband of the late Chris Blanton. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he had his Journeyman License in Tool Milling where he worked as a Master Machinist. He was a member of the International Union of United Auto Workers, Aerospace and the Agricultural Implement Workers of America.

Earl is survived by his grandchildren, Christi Ranck and husband, Andy, Jessica Bixby and husband, Dustin; great- grandchildren, Leah & Drew Ranck; brothers, Harold Blanton and James "Dean" Blanton; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Norma Bamford and her husband, David, his daughter, Debbie Leight; brothers, Roy Blanton, Jr., Sims Blanton, Howard "Smoke" Blanton and Ret. Gen. Charles Blanton; sisters, Carobel "Celeste" Blanton and Edith Blanton.
