Willie Joe Perry, age 93, was called home to be with his Lord on Jan 12, 2007.

Mr. Perry was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was a past member of the Chandler School Board, the Chandler Masonic Lodge and a 75-year member of Martin Springs Baptist Church. He retired from General Electric in 1975. He loved the land and spent most of his life farming and ranching. He loved practical jokes and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his tales of early adventures. He will be remembered most for his loving care, his diligent work ethics and his Christian leadership.

His wife of 68 years, Lottie Perry; daughter, Chloetilda Perry; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Perry; sister, Florene Lawrence; and brother, Aubrey Perry, preceded him in death.

Daughters, Linda Alexander and Charlotte Morris, and their husbands, Dr. Thomas Alexander and Donald Morris survive him. Grandchildren include Sonya Hamilton and husband Keith Hamilton, Tonya Reynolds and husband Dewayne Reynolds, Greg Powell and wife Tammy, Staci Alexander, Joey Morris, and Melanie Thomas and husband Lane; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters, Dean Parmer and husband Odis, Nell Dickson, and Marge McGannon; also a loving caregiver, Dyana Velarde.

Visitation will be at Stewart Family Funeral Home on Sunday 5-7 p.m., with graveside services Monday at 11 a.m. at Rock Hill Cemetery with Rev. Milton Gardner officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Hunter Franklin and J.K. Hamilton.
