Melva was a graduate of the Class of 1948 at Winston County High School. She was a long time member of First Baptist Double Springs, where she served as Sunday School teacher, nursery worker and church treasurer. Melva retired from the United States Department of Agriculture, where she worked for 30 years. She was known by many as “Pud”.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 6-9 pm at First Baptist Church, Double Springs, where services will be held Tuesday at 11am. Burial will follow at Double Springs Memorial Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Wilson; parents, Gertrude and Parker Denton; brothers Ralph, Gilbert, and Rayburn Denton.
