KANNAPOLIS - Loy Leon Wagner, 79, of Kannapolis died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at CMC Northeast Medical Center in Concord following a period of declining health.

Born May 30, 1928, in Rowan County, Mr. Wagner was the son of the late Charles and Ina McCombs Wagner.

Mr. Wagner was a supervisor for National Linen Service in Charlotte until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by a son, Michael Leon Wagner.

Surviving are wife Mary Catherine Wallace Wagner of the home; sons Gary Loy Wagner of Salisbury, and Richard Eugene Wagner of Kannapolis; brother Charles Wagner, Jr. of Kannapolis; grandson Colby Wagner; granddaughters Camry Lynne Wagner, Ella Aimee Wagner, Deborah Hickman, and Kimberly Burris; and great-grandchildren Trent Hickman, and Trevor and Terrell Burris.

Visitation: 2-3:00 p.m. today at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at their respective residences.

Service: 3:00 p.m. today at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove.
