Roger V. Stout, 85, of Fremont, passed away Feb. 10, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. He was born Oct. 31, 1930 in Fremont to Ed & Violet (Hodge) Stout. Roger graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1950. He worked as a superintendant at Continental Fremont and as a supervisor at Industrial Hanger; retiring in 1992. He was a Cubmaster of the Boy Scouts, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster of Troop 302, Scouting Coordinator, Assistant District Commissioner, District Commissioner, Chairman Advancement Committee, Board of Review for Eagle Scouts, and Committee for Klondike Derby and Cub Powwow. Roger was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He earned the following Scout Awards; Scouters Award, Scouter Key, Sandusky District Outstanding Commissioner Award, Sandusky District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, and the Cross & Flame Award. Roger was a member of the Ross High Band Boosters, Ross High Football Boosters, and assisted with Elks League Baseball. Roger was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees, was Vice Chairman on the Pastor Parish Committee, Commission on Education, Committee for Youth Work, and was Maintenance Superintendent of the building. Roger taught welding at Vanguard Technical High School and served on the Welding Advisory Committee. Roger married Ruth Ann Carnicom June 21, 1950 at Hayes United Methodist Church; she survives. Also surviving are children, Scott G. (Rhonda) Stout and Randall L. (Debora) Stout; grandchildren, Lora (Derek) Thiessen, Krystal (Cris) Nelson, Scott G. Stout, II, Sean E. Stout; great grandchildren, Garrett Nelson, Dylan Erdmann, Emma Nelson, and Andrew Nelson; 2 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; and brother, James "Larry" (Barb) Stout. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, LaMar E. Stout. Visitation will be held Feb. 13, 12-3 p.m. & 5-7 p.m., at the Herman Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be Feb. 14, 2016 at 2 p.m., at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, where visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Pastor Alan Brown will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church Boy Scout Troop 302, Stein Hospice Care Center of Sandusky, or Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio,
