Kathy Roberta Meyer, 55, of Keosauqua passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Kathy was born on August 3, 1961, the daughter of Robert & Katherine (Lammert) Billingsley. She was united in marriage to her high school sweet heart Darrell K. Meyer on April 23, 1981, in Keosauqua. She graduated from Harmony High School in the class of 1979. Kathy was a stay at home Mom and Grandmother and that was a full-time job for much of her adult life.She also worked at Motorola in Mt. Pleasant for a number of years. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and joined the family of God on July 2, 1989, in Big Cedar Creek near Hillsboro. Kathy will be remembered for her love of everyone, her love she had for family, her outward love of Jesus Christ and singing his praises.
Kathy is survived by her husband Darrell of Keosauqua and her children; Michelle (Ed) Griffiths of Hillsboro, D. J. (Beth) Meyer of Palo, and James (Carrie) Meyer of Shellsburg; two grandchildren; three sisters; Dorothy Shamstrom of Burlington, Joyce Weaver of Douds and Lea Ann (Kevin) Gordy of Bonaparte, one brother Howard (Twila) Billingsley of Mt. Sterling and thirteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three nephews and one brother.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with Rev. David Callen officiating. Burial followed in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
