Donald "Rayburn" Britt, 79, of Cromwell, Ky. passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Simpson Co. on November 10, 1937, to the late David and Annie Eaton Britt. He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver for Goldenrod for 25 years, worked at Kendall Co. for 35 years. He loved playing with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, singing and playing guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons Dennis Mayhew and Donald Britt Jr.; beloved son in law Lupe Covarrubias and two beloved daughters in law Nicole Mayhew and Judy Mayhew; 2 brothers Jimmy D. Britt and James Britt.
Mr. Britt is survived by his wife of 39 years Dorothy Britt of Cromwell; 5 children Penny Covarrubias of Kansas, Chester Mayhew (Caroline) of Missouri, Steve Mayhew of Oklahoma, Debbie Poteet (James) of Franklin and Douglas Britt (Christy) of Rosine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Elbert Britt of Greenwood, In. and Charles Britt (Ann) of Portland, Tn.; 1 sister Rachel Britt of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 1 pm with Bro. Thomas Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in the Newton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27 from 3-8 pm, Wednesday 8 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
