Mary Louise Goodwin LeMaster passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Alpine Funeral Home, 2300 North Sylvania Ave. Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Mary was born Jan. 30, 1925, to Fred Goodwin Sr. and Mary Ann Wright Goodwin in Haydock, Iowa, to a family of coal miners. She graduated from Lovilia, Iowa High School in May of 1943. She married Darrell Dean LeMaster in May of 1943. To this marriage, four children were born. Darrell's work as a construction superintendent took him to numerous states. Mary, corralling four kids, followed him and made a comfortable home in every one of these places, finally settling in Haltom City in 1957. Later in life, Darrell's was involved in amateur boxing and was instrumental in starting the Junior Olympics program in Texas. He later became president of Region Nine of the American Amateur Boxing Federation and served on the United States Olympic Boxing Committee. Mary was the behind the scenes bookkeeper, secretary, scheduler and chief cook and bottle washer for all of Darrell's activities. Mary was also a charter member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 1889. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Patty; her husband, Darrell; and granddaughter, Jamie Jarrett. Survivors: Her children, Don and Andree' LeMaster of Haltom City, Bryan and Connie LeMaster of Golden Valley, Ariz., Lucita and Ron Brannon of Azle and Tom and Dianna LeMaster of Decatur; sister, Alberta Harris of Anoka, Minn., brother, Fred Goodwin of Flagler, Iowa; sister, Evelyn Langman of Dumfries, Va., 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
