She was born on June 10, 1921 in Potomac, the daughter of Jesse and Mary Selsor Alexander. Mildred married E. Harrison Yates in Armstrong on Nov. 30, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1999.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one son-in-law, Larry Rothery and one granddaughter, Angela Yates.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel (Bev) Yates and Richard (Carol) Yates; one daughter, Joyce (Dennis) Weber; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Yates farmed in the Rankin area for over 40 years. She enjoyed taking her grandkids camping and was a Cub Scout den mother when her children were younger.
Mildred was very proud of being a deputy county clerk in Ford County for 16 years.
She enjoyed spending the winters in Tavares, Florida with many friends and family.
