Marion was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. After her schooling she went to work for the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW). During a Christmas ice skating party hosted by PGW, she met John A. Boyd a coworker in another department. The two fell in love and later married. Marion would quit her position with PGW to raise her family.

Marion was an avid reader, she enjoyed sharing books and reading shared books. “It was always important to write your name on the inside cover of a shared book on the senior bus”, she would tell others. “That way you will know that you read it later on if you pick it up”.

In her free time, Marion also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and taking care of her African Violets.

Services will be held privately at the family request.
