Nancy Barnard Hastings, age 71 of Louisville, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016, after a courageous battle with COPD.


She was born May 16, 1945, in Lorain, OH, one of eleven children born to George and Rita (McDermott) Barnard.


After marriage, while raising her family, she moved to Louisville where she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. After raising her family in Louisville, she moved to Charlotte, NC, where she worked with Associated Marketing, and was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.


In recent years, Nancy returned to Louisville and enjoyed being together with her family.

Nancy was mother to Lisa Hastings and Matthew Hastings; and "Grandmama" to Hannah Hastings. Other survivors include four brothers, Bob, Don, Tom, and David; and three sisters, Peggy, Katie, and Betty. Nancy was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Barnard; sisters, Patricia Muliett and Rita Lesesky, niece Deana Saraney, brother-in-law Ronald Redder, sister-in-law Gayle Barnard and the father of her children Lawrence Hastings.


Visitation will be held on January 28, 2017, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 496 East Washington St., Chagrin Falls, OH at 10 am followed by a mass at 11 am.

A celebration of life will be held on February 4, 2017, at Hurstbourne Ridge Condominium clubhouse, 3623 Hurstbourne Ridge Blvd, Louisville, KY from 2-5 pm.

Instead of customary expressions, donations may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Hosparus, or a charity of your choice.
