Swearingen — Daniel
Miss Nellie E. Daniel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Daniel of Clarence became the bride of Paul F. Swearingen son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Swearingen of Shelbina, Saturday afternoon May 23 at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. O. L. Angel, pastor of the First Christian church.
The witnesses were Mrs. O. L. Angel and Clyde F. Whitmer.
Mr. and Mrs. Swearingen went on a wedding trip to Jefferson City, after which they will be at home to their friends in Shelbina where the groom is connected with the Chevrolet Sales Co.
They have the best wishes of their many friends.

Paul Swearingen
CLARENCE, Mo. — Paul Swearingen, 74, of Clarence, died at noon Thursday (April 13, 1978) in a nursing home in Paris.
Mr. Swearingen was born Nov. 5, 1903, in Shelby County, a son of James Thomas and Lela Agnes Britton Swearingen. He married Nellie Daniel of Clarence in 1932.
A member of the Baptist faith, he operated a milk plant in Clarence for a number of years, then was employed by the Central Farm Company of Trenton, as a field man in the Clarence area until he retired.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Van of Shelbina; and two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Wood of Shelbina and Mrs. Mildred Rutter of Ames, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, conducted by the Rev. Charles Embree. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
