Animation Feature Director. He was best known as the director of such iconic television cartoons as "The Jetsons", "Scooby Doo", and "The Smurfs". He worked in New York City as a freelance director and later became casting director for the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, California, a post he held for 10 years. In the early 1970s he was hired by Hanna Barbera Productions to direct various animated series for them. In 1974 he directed his first cartoon series "Partridge Family 2200 A.D.". Besides "The Jetsons", "Scooby Doo", and "The Smurfs", he would go on to direct such animated productions as "Super Friends", "Pac-Man", "The Scooby & Scrappy Doo/Puppy Hour", "Pink Panther and Sons", "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo", "Pound Puppies", "The Flintstone Kids", and "Captain Planet and the Planeteers". During his tenure with Hanna Barbera, he also directed many animated specials and movies. Besides this work, he also directed many television series and video game productions. He was the father of actress Helen Hunt.
