The daughter of the late James R. and Julia (Wengenroth) Diehl, Sr. Mary Anne was born on January 30, 1939 in Middletown, NY. Sr. Mary Anne entered Religious Life at Mount St. Joseph, New Windsor, NY on September 8, 1956. She made her first vows on April 29, 1959 and her final vows on April 29, 1962. Sister graduated from St. John's High School in Middletown in 1956, earned a BS Ed. from Fordham U in 1964 and a MS from Seton Hall in 1970.
During her ministry, Sr. Mary Anne taught at St. Frances of Rome School, Bronx and St. Mary School, Kingston, NY. She served as principal of St. John School, Goshen, NY and Our Lady of Solace School, Bronx, NY. She also taught in St. Lucy and St. David Schools in Louisiana. Following her career in teaching, Sr. Mary Anne ministered to the elderly in the Bronx and Brooklyn. She also served as Pastoral Associate at Immaculate Conception Parish in Jamaica Estates, NY.
In addition to her family of the Sisters of the Presentation, Sr. Mary Anne is survived by her brother, John, and his wife, Donna; her sister, Julie, and husband, John Darling; her brother, David and Debra Diehl; her sister, Catherine; sister-in-law, Egia Diehl and their families. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Raymond Diehl.
