Ruby Lee (Bryant) Chambers, 96, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the West River Health Campus.

Ruby was born September 11, 1920 in Readland, Arkansas to the late Sam and Fannie (Grandberry) Bryant. Ruby and her husband, Leo were founders of General Oil Field Supply Company. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. Ruby taught bread baking classes in her home for the University of Evansville. Ruby was a former member of the Tri State Petroleum Wives and Simpson United Methodist Church.

Surviving Ruby are a daughter, Susan (Gary) Isbell of Evansville; three sons, Michael (Carol) Chambers of Evansville, Mark Chambers of Colorado Springs, CO and Jon (Jerd Smith) Chambers of Boulder, CO; one brother, Robert (Billie) Bryant of Richland, WA; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Chambers in 1973; by a daughter, Linda Fugate in 2013; an infant son, Gregory Chambers, a sister, Nellie May Phillips and by brothers, Bill and Eugene Bryant.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
