Funeral Services for John Alton Conaway will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with entombment in Tyler Memorial Park. Mr. Conaway lived in Tyler most of his life graduated from Cayuga High School in 1968, received his associate degree from Henderson County Junior College in 1971 and retired from Kelly-Springfield after 37 years of service. Survivors include his daughter: Melanie Conaway of Eustace, granddaughter: Courtney Conaway ,sisters: Marie Weaver of Trinidad, Naomi Dugan of Buffalo, Pam Caldwell of Palestine, brothers: Danny Conaway of Muchison, Richard Conaway of Palestine and Steven Conaway of Athens, several nieces & nephews including Kathy Ketter his longtime caregiver. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Kathy Conaway and son, Chad Conaway. Pallbearers are Harry Ketter, Todd Weaver, Torrey Weaver, Mark Conaway, Preston Conaway and Grant Conaway. honorary pallbearers will be Royce Weaver & Jimmy McPherson. The family wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and compassion. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
