Evan was the son of Enoch Morgan 1717-? and _____ Keene. His paternal grandparents were Rev. Abel Morgan 1635-1722 & Judith Goodings Griffith. Note one source shows Evan's mother was Rebecca Keene.

The church group which his parents were members of moved to South Carolina.

In 1763 Evan married Olive (Newsom?) b. 1746 who was reported to be a second cousin. Whether the marriage was in PA or Edgefield Co, SC needs to be validated along with Olive's maiden name of Newsom.

Evan signed a will on 17 Apr 1798 in Edgefield Co., SC. the will was probated in Oct 1799 in Edgefield Co., SC.

The 4 surviving boys inherited 550 acres from Evan.

In 1795, Rhoda (Oneas' widow) deeds land to her daughter, Fanny, and says to my loving daughter, Fanny [Frances] Morgan, of the deceased Onea Morgan, tract of 100 acres of land, do freely give my part as a widow, situated in Edgefield District and bounded by the waters of Savannah River.

Most of the above primarily comes from two different websites with documentation that today years later no longer are active :-(

Note, another contributor feels that Evan may be part of the David Morgan family. This happened in a new country 300 years ago when some records were superb and others just none existent. Nothing has been found to substantiate this connection.

Another contributor feels that Evan had a brother Thomas who also moved to SC.

Yet another contributor shows that he specifically moved to Anson, North Carolina.
