Tommy Joe Harris, 71 of Octa, died December 18, 2016 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Tommy was born to the late Thomas Beauford and Stella Lorraine (Smith) Harris May 20, 1945 in Octa.

Tommy was a veteran of the US Army and a longtime member of the Johnson Chapel Baptist Church.

Tommy married Melba Taylor Harris February 28, 1970 in Octa, Missouri

Tommy is survived by his wife Melba Harris

One Daughter Sherry (David) Harris Malone of Jonesboro, Arkansas

One Brother Danny Allen Harris of Kennett, Missouri

Three sisters Rowena (Metz) Skelton of Kennett, Missouri
Marilyn Rose Clark of Leachville, Arkansas
Mary Beth Haywood of Senath, Missouri

One Grandchild Sara Malone Land and one great grandchild Payton Land

Services will be 11AM Wednesday, December 21 in the McDaniel Chapel in Senath with Reverend's Lavone Smart and Steve Moody officiating, burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Visitation will be 6-8PM Tuesday December 20 at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Matt Harris, Bill Harris, Chuck Johnson, Mark Johnson, Jim Johnson, Patrick Land, Randy Wiseman and Gerry Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Lee Blansett, Wilford Stone, Ronnie Hicks, Brian Hufford, Caleb Duncan, Tanner Duncan and David Malone.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Senath is in charge of arrangements.
