Lois Lanelle Berryhill Hudson died at Claiborne County Hospital. She was born January 6, 1929, to H. D. and Ruby Berryhill of Learned, Mississippi. She received a music degree from Hinds Jr. College, and moved to Port Gibson to begin her teaching career. She met the love of her life, James Edward Hudson, and they married on November 30, 1947. They enjoyed 59 years together, until James' death in 2006. Lanelle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the care of her family first, while sharing her exceptional musical talent throughout Claiborne County for over 50 years. Few will forget their time at the piano under Mrs. Hudson's skillful guidance.
