Clifford Kenneth Welch Sr., 77, of Westlake was called home by Jesus peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the comfort of his home.

Clifford was born in the small community of Calcasieu, LA on December 19, 1938, to Carl and Lela (Morris) Welch. He lived most of his life in Westlake, graduating in 1956. He then served in the Air Force from 56-59 followed by McNeese until 61. He retired from Gulf States Utilities after 28 years as an operator and then contract supervisor. He was an all-around outdoorsman; loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and working in his yard, along with coaching recreation sports for many years. The pride and joy of his life was family. He rarely missed a sporting event or a family gathering. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the Toledo Bend camp and Longville deer lease. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory; his wife of 58 years, Margie Lyons Welch and 2 sons, Clifford Kenny Welch Jr. (Monica), and Darren Welch of Westlake; sister Doris Welch Saunier of Sulphur and brother Thomas Dewitt Welch of Albuquerque, NM. Also, he leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Russell Welch, Michael Welch, Jessica Welch Kelly, Jenci Corley, Heidi Corley Thomason, Hali Corley Miller, and Caitlin Welch Spears as well as 8 great grandchildren, and 3 brother-in-laws and 5 sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Virgil Welch and Clayton Welch.
