Patricia "Pat" Ann Piazza (King), 85, peacefully, passed away of natural causes at her Redding home, with her family by her side, on the evening of Wednesday, December 14th, 2016.

Pat was born September 16th, 1931 in Houston, Texas. As a young woman, she joined the Civil Air Patrol. A short time later, she married the love-of-her-life, Clifford Douglas Piazza on July 1st, 1950, where she quickly assumed the challenging, yet exciting, role as a USAF military wife. Pat and Cliff were married for 67 years.

Pat loved to share many fond memories of their time living in various places throughout the U.S. One of Pat's (and family's) most memorable experience was living through the "Great Alaskan earthquake" of 1964 while they were stationed in Anchorage, AK.

In 1967, after Cliff retired from the USAF, they settled into their forever home in Redding, CA. During these years, Pat worked for Shasta Regional and Shasta County Public Works. She also volunteered many hours with Shasta County Elections. She was a long-time, active member of Redding's VFW Post 1934 Ladies Auxiliary and member of the Redding Sons of Italy - Shasta Lodge #2453.

During their retirement years, Pat enjoyed traveling in their motor-home, vacationing in Hawaii and spending time with her family she adored and selflessly cared for. She has been described, many of times, as a "superb cook" and was endearingly nicknamed "Pasta" by her husband, Cliff. Her last travel adventure was a trip to Italy (2010) with Cliff, her son Doug and his wife Diane.

Patricia was preceded in death by: her father, Custer King; her mother, Ethel Darnell; her granddaughter, Kylah Piazza; and her niece, Sandy Gillespie.

She is survived by: her husband, Cliff; her children, Doug (Diane), Danny (Diana) and Nancy; her grandchildren, Jason (Brandi), Kari (Chad), Gary, Amanda (Kevin); her step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Colleen (Kevin) and Caitlin; Her great-grandchildren, Carmelo, Conner and Cora.
