Lovelace, Robert Sydney age 86 of Old Hickory Tn. Passed away March 18 2013 . Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm on Friday, March 22 in the chapel at Hermitage Funeral Home with Rev. Melisa Derseweh officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 till 8pm on Thursday, March 21 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Robert was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Nashville to the late David Curtis Sr and Jimmie Dee Lovelace. He graduated from East High School and married Ernestine Niederhauser in 1952. Robert was an owner of Lovelace Candy Company which was founded by his father. After his marriage to Ernestine, he was an executive with Swiss Farm Dairies in Donelson and was instrumental in its sale to Purity Dairies in 1965. Robert played trumpet in several dance bands during the 40's including the Royal Serenaders . He raced hydroplanes and shared his love of the water and boating with his children and grandchildren. He founded Photos by Lovelace in the 70's and enjoyed photography for many years and was a past member of Donelson Lions Club and Old Hickory Country Club. He was active in the Dixie Model Train Club, the Nashville Pond Society and Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Shades Tree Class. He is survived by Ernestine, his wife of 61 years, his 103 year old mother in law , Adelaide Niederhauser, and his three children, Larry Lovelace (Becky) of Old Hickory Tn. Sherry Kroeger (Skip) of Franklin, TN and Syd Lovelace of Venice Beach, Ca. He is also survived by four wonderful grandchildren, Christopher Kennedy (Michelle), Gail Lovelace Menasco (Luke) , Curtis Lovelace, and Chase Lovelace. Preceded in death by his siblings, David Curtis (D.C) Lovelace Jr., Lucille Lovelace Stringfield Birthright and Louise Lovelace Jordan, he was a devoted father and husband. Honorary pallbearers : Bill Rich , Johnny Harwell, Joe Lannom, Ewing Price, Jack Furman, Miles Ezell, John Lovelace, Hill Howard, Bud Baker, Allen Eatherly , Bill Pharris .
