Decatur ~ Joe Wayne Curry, 66, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 23, 2015 in Fort Worth.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Paradise Cemetery in Paradise, Texas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at First Baptist Church in Decatur. Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Rev. Phillip Askey will officiate. Pallbearers include Brady Mann, Scott Mann, Jason Hayes, Darren Hayes, Peter Ku, and Jonathan Shriver.

Joe was born on July 6, 1949 to William and Johnnie (Fawcett) Curry in Hillsboro, Texas. He was united in marriage to Karen Lee Mann on February 16, 1973 in Hillsboro. Joe received his bachelors in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University. He was a nursing home administrator for Decatur Convalescent and Hill Haven for 19 years, and the past 18 years he worked as a case manager for F.E.M.A. Joe was an avid golfer who loved to play with his family and friends. Joe’s passion was to play and watch baseball. He played college baseball for Hill College. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Karen Curry of Decatur; his daughters, Beth Ann Ku and husband Peter of Aledo, and Kara Lee Shriver and husband Jonathan of Decatur; his son, Jody Neal Curry and wife Kelley of Casper, Wyoming; 8 grandchildren, Marshall and Nelson Ku, Jackson, Davis and Grant Shriver, Kolby McConnell and wife Briana, Kaylee McConnell, and Tucker Joe Curry; 2 great grandchildren, Ryeson and Bodhi McConnell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
