Jean passed away peacefully December 13, 2016. He was the son of Charles and Ines Franceschi. Born in Taylorville, Illinois and raised in Madrid, Iowa. Jean was a high school teacher and counselor in San Mateo He was an avid sports fan-he loved to coach, play or watch. Jean loved to bowl, dance, travel and be with family and friends. He was proud of his Italian Heritage and was a member of the Wm. Paca Lodge Sons of Italy, Mtn.View. He also was a member of the Palo Alto Elks Lodge #1471, and the Old Timers. Jean loved life, having a good time and seeing the world. Loving father of Diane, John (Ruth), Stephen (Claudia), David (Tina), Jean, and Christine (Robert). Loving Nonno to Sarah, Rachel, Andrew, Samuel, Katherine, Jennifer, Zachary, Julianna, Lindsay, and Ashley. Brother in law of Robert (Theodora) Chioino. Also survived by his beloved Shih Tzu Missy. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Barbara and grandson Lucas.

Funeral services Weds. Dec. 21st at 10:30 a.m. with Rosary followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., St. Simon's Church, 1860 Grant Rd. Los Altos. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos. Contributions preferred to St. Judes Children Hospital or . Family would like to thank The Kaiser Hospital Medical Team and especially for their father's care over the last 3 months.
