Thomas B. "Brit" Alexander, 75, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in Tyler, Texas. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery, Clifton, Texas, with the Rev. Bill Schivler officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Texas.

Brit was born in Texarkana, Ark. to the late Thomas Webster and Mary (Brittian) Alexander. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Brit worked for Lufkin Industries for 30 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, and a former member of First Baptist, Lufkin & Central Baptist Dept. 5 Men's Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, John Russell Raines.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Alexander, of Jacksonville; step-son, Acie John Raines and wife, Mary, of Katy, Texas; step-daughter, Patricia Raines Darby and husband, Don, of New Summerfield; step-grandchildren, Patti Love, Jennifer Darby Lambrick, Kelly Snyder and Lauran Darby; and step-great-grandchildren, Justin Love and Sydney Snyder.
