Mr. James Hugh “Jimmy” Armstrong, Sr., age 70, of Franklin passed away Wednesday December 14, 2016 at his residence.

Mr Armstrong was born February 8, 1946 in Heard County to the late Louis Cliff Armstrong and Glimmer Lena Wilson Armstrong. He was a Baptist by faith.

He served his country in the army during the Vietnam era, and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he worked for the Department of Transportation as an inspector.

A simple man, Mr. Armstrong felt mostly at home tending his farm. He especially loved anything to do with John Deere tractors. His favorite times were spent taking care of his cows.
