According to records, he lived in Buchanan, Virginia in at least 1860 and Magisterial District 1, Pike, Kentucky in at least 1900.
He died on March 17, 1907 in Pike, Kentucky, at the age of 65, and was buried in Will Stephens Cemetery, Elisha Fork, Hurricane Creek, in Pike, Kentucky.
