Ben Stewart, 18, of Dacula, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Lawrenceville Church of God. Ben’s Scout leaders will serve as speakers.
Ben started a lifelong Scouting career with Pack 529 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dacula. He then proceeded to Boy Scouts with Troop 514 at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville. He received his Eagle Scout award on March 29, 2015, after mapping out Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville. He was a 2016 honor graduate of Archer High School in Lawrenceville and was currently attending Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where he was a member of the Epsilon Tau Pi Eagle Scout Fraternity.
He is survived by his parents, Frankie and Tricia Stewart, of Dacula; sister, Heidi Stewart, of Dacula; paternal grandparents, Tim and Gay Stewart, of Law­renceville; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Irene Bryant, of Dacula; paternal great-grandmother, Margie Stewart, of Lawrenceville; uncle and aunt, Jason and Chasity Stewart, of Monroe; uncle, Jeff Bryant Jr., of Dacula; aunt and uncle, Angela and Matt Dillard, of Greer, South Carolina; and cousins, Taylor and Chase Bryant, Destiny, Riley, Avery and Ellie Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 514, care of Laura Hagenbarth, 2312 Birch Hollow Trail, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
