Stratton Smith, 54, resident of Franklin, passed away at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton as a result of injuries received in a runaway last Saturday morning in Franklin. Mr. Smith was thrown from the buggy to the street pavement when his horse frightened and raced through the streets. Although his injuries were serious they were not considered fatal, thus his death is a shock to his home community.
The deceased is survived by the widow and eight children. Fortunately, most of the children are grown. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the home of daughter, Mrs. E. E. Fish.
