IRVING - Edith E. Moore, 85, a resident of TLC/HN-Nursing Facility, Irving, formerly of Dennison Road, Silver Creek, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Silver Creek on August 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Rosell W. and Ethel (Seeley) Snyder. Mrs. Moore worked at St. Columban's on the Lake, Silver Creek, for 10 years and she also previously worked many jobs around the area, including working for the former Silver Creek Telephone Co. She assisted her late husband, Merritt T. Moore, whom she married January 16, 1954 in Silver Creek and who died July 26, 1992, and her son with the Grape Farm on Dennison Road, Silver Creek. Mrs. Moore enjoyed floral & vegetable gardening and maintaining lawns. Survivors include a daughter, Monica Moore of
Florida, and a son, Merritt T. (Kathryn) Moore, II of Silver Creek. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Merritt Thomas Moore, III, and Grace Rose Moore, and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister, Constance Snyder Lord and by a brother, William Snyder. Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Private Graveside Services will be held in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover, with Rev. Michael
Leamon, pastor of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, Silver Creek, officiating. The family suggests memorial donations may be made either to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 or to Buffalo City Mission, 100 East Tupper Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
