LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill.—David B. Fortner, 79, 617½ 12th St, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Aug 22, 1896 in Sumner to Ed and Dora (Gorbett) Fortner.
He was a retired coal miner.
Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Ash, Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Betty Mae Cody, lake Worth, Fla; half-brothers, Levi and Jim Heath, Lawrenceville, Bill Heath, Sumner, and Doc Ray Heath, Palm Beach, Fla., half-sisters, Mary Eagle, Lawrenceville, and Rosa Neal, Sumner; 13 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Fishback officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
