Karen Yvonne Sharp was born September 5, 1964 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Miles DeWayne and Margaret Ann (Earl) Sharp the youngest of five children and passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 52.

As a young girl she attended Harvard Public School. Karen lived for a period of time in Louisiana and Tennessee, before returning with her mother to Hastings, Nebraska. She employed at Lovitz Manufacturing and a other employers. Karen later earned the Certified Nurses Aide and Medication Aide designation and worked for a temp agency, filling in at several area nursing homes as needed.

She was a hard working person who enjoyed giving to others in need. Karen had many skills and talents, one of which was gardening and canning the bounty for her family to enjoy. One of her specialties was making salsa's and ketchup and other tomato recipes. She could make a meal when there was "nothing" in the house to cook.

Karen had a wonderful, amazing attitude with a very positive outlook on life and was wise beyond her years, especially to those who knew her. Once her health began to fail, she lived in Dorchester with a friend.

She is survived by: her son, Rodney Prince; brothers, Miles D. Sharp, Jr., Bradley E. Sharp, Kenny B. Sharp; her significant other, David Justa; and many other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Sharp.

Karen's request was to be cremated. Her cremains will be buried later in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, Nebraska.
