HOISINGTON – Vern W. Boyle, 70, died Thursday at Hoisington Lutheran Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 19, 1903, at rural Olmitz, he married Zelma Baker, March 26, 1933, at La Crosse. He was a retired farmer and lifetime resident of Olmitz-Hoisington community.

He was a member of the Vine United Methodist Church, Hoisington.

Survivors are the widow; sons, Wallace, Midland, Mich.; John W., Plymouth, Mich.; Robert, Hoisington; daughters, Mrs. Denver (Ann) Willis, Meade; Mrs. Frank (Verna) Richmeier, Mrs. Pattsy Gray and Linda Boyle, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Robert (Martha) Oetken, Hoisington; brothers, Roy, Kansas City; Walter, Hurst, Tex.; 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Rev. Samuel Warren officiating. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
