John Sterling Ratliff was born Dec. 12, 1963 and was granted his angel wings on Dec. 13, 2016. He was 53 years old. John was a true spirit that touched so many in some small way throughout his life. His life would seem challenged by many, but those that knew him understood the quality of his existence. God truly blessed us with his gentle soul. He gave us all such hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. He loved listening and playing music on his table organ, and glowed when in the presence of babies. Though John grew to be a man, he remained as innocent as a child. John worked at Headwaters in Rhinelander for 25 years, and lived with his caregivers, the late Barb and Ray Neumann, and Nancy and Rick Sener. Our appreciation for their assistance and loving guidance goes beyond words. John was preceded in death by his parents, Inelgean and Arlie Ratliff; brothers, Leon, Robert, Thomas, Rodney and Joel; and sisters Linda and Barbara. He is survived by brothers Arlie, Jr. (Laurie), David (Annie) and Richard; sisters, Ruth Ann (Ron), Sheila (Robert), Debra and Mary (Ron). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews.

Inurnment will take place at the Eagle River Cemetery.
