Jonathan Robinson, age 90, of the South Toe Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 16th, 2016. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Homer and Maude Shuford Robinson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Zane Robinson and his wife, Sherry; brothers and sister: Paul Robinson, David Robinson and Helen McAlister; granddaughters: Misty Curtis and Renee Robinson; great-great granddaughter, Hope Camacho and a son-in- law, Harold Cook. Jonathan was a US Army Veteran, having served in WWII. He was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memories is his daughters: Annetta Cook, Vivian Stevens and husband, Bill, and Helen Curtis and husband, Gene, all of Burnsville; sons: Johnny Robinson and wife, Tonuia, of Marion, Michael Robinson and wife, Elizabeth, Paul Robinson and wife, Sheila and Randy Robinson and fiancée, Sandy Briggs, all of Burnsville; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great, great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 19th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev Joe Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ballew Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

The family asks memorial donations be made to Hospice of Yancey County at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
