Gene was born in Springville to Axel and Clarice Danielson on October 30, 1935. He felt gypped with his birthday being the day before Halloween.

He married Patsie Wilson on May 5, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. Patsie preceded him in death fourteen years to the day, December 12, 2002. He will be missed by his children, Douglas, Craig, Eugene, Debbie, Peggie, Clara, and Jackie; as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Gene loved to learn and continued his education throughout his life. He took classes at the Salt Lake Community College and University of Utah into his seventies. He enjoyed math, economics, and small engine repair.

Gene served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He served in Korea at a hotel issuing sheets and pillowcases to soldiers going on R&R. He would work twenty-four hours and then have forty-eight hours off.

Gene worked at the Eddington Cannery in Springville, BYU, a Federal Reserve Bank, a trading post on an indian reservation, and, finally, at the Tooele Army Depot, from which her retired.

Gene was extremely proud of being the oldest newspaper carrier. He was delivering papers well into his seventies.

Gene suffered with rheumatoid arthritis for more than fifty years. He proved that even with arthritis he could do anything he set his mind too.

We love you, Dad, and miss you.
