Reverend Raymond Arthur "Austin" Fowles was the son of John Wellington Fowles (1852-1931) and his wife, Ella Greenwood "Nellie" Poole (1858-1940). Rev. Fowles married Lillian Stark (Hatfield) Fowles on 15 Nov 1898.

Lillian Fowles and her husband Rev. Arthur Fowles, called "Austin" were the parents of at least the following children: Raymond Hatfield Fowles (1900-1941); Robert Stark Fowles (1904-1971); Helena Jeannette Fowles Kaiser (1907-1988); Theodore Grant Fowles (1908-1085); Hatfield Fowles (1911-1996); and Dexter Merrian "Sam"Fowles (1918-1934) who lost his life in an automobile accident in East Lemon, PA.
