Dr. Steven Craig Wiest, 55, of Manhattan, KS, died Monday, January 8, 2007, in Longneck, DE.

Steven was born August 4, 1951, in Harrisburg son of the late Russell Weist and Norma Weist who survives.

Steven was a retired professor he got his start at Rutgers University where he worked for 3 years and retired from Kansas State after 24 years of service.

He donated his time to many other universities on numerous projects and to his community and also to his friends.

He is survived by his mother Norma Weist of Harrisburg, one brother David Wiest, of Shermansdale, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2007, at Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. Officiated by the Rev. Pamela J. Carnes and the Rev. W. Richard Feeser, Jr.

Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131 or to American Heart Association P.O. 62073 Baltimore, MD 21264-2073.
