She retired in 2003 after several years as a self- employed seamstress.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father Charles T. Dotson; brother Jerry Dotson; sister Charlotte Dotson and step-father Leslie Hogarth.

Survivors include her mother Mabel Evelyn Turner Hogarth; husband Connie Jasper Poe; son Michael Shannon Poe; daughter Julie L. Scott; brothers Richard, Roger & Danny Dotson; sisters Kathleen Freeman & Glenda Hubbard and 4 grandchildren.
