A Funeral Mass will be 10am Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Christ Church, 1717 - 8th Ave. Moline. Visitation will be 4 -7pm Wednesday at Rafferty Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials can be made to Avian Reconditioning Center, 323 West Lester Rd., Apopka, FL 32712.
Nancy was born October 25, 1929 in Bethesda, MD, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (VanSant) Stock. She married Robert J. Thompson on July 17, 1952 in Louisville, KY. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2008.
Nancy received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Tufts University. She was an avid potter and was a member of the Davenport Pottery Guild and Ceramic League in Palm Beach, FL. She and Bob were also members of the Jimmy Buffet Quad City Parrot Head Club.
Nancy enjoyed working word puzzles and was a wheel watcher. She loved wintering in Florida and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, John (Caroline Ruhl) Thompson, Davenport and Matt (Pam) Thompson, Moline; grandchildren, Sam and Maggie Thompson, John (Jenny) Beason and Chris (Stefanie) Beason and great grandchildren, Ella, Caroline and Charlie Beason. She was preceded in death by a brother, Van.
